Cambridge, MA (August 1, 2016) – Brain4Net, an innovative SDN/NFV solution vendor for service providers and enterprises, today announced it has joined the Software-Defined Networking (SDN) Consortium at the The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL). Brain4Net, in collaboration with SDN Consortium members, will participate in joint interoperability, conformance and performance products testing sessions. Company benefits from leveraging the UNH-IOL’s unequaled SDN testing capability, independent technology leadership verification and accelerated time-to-market of new solutions and product releases.

The UNH-IOL, an independent provider of broad-based testing and standards conformance services for the networking industry, as well as an authorized test lab for Open Networking Foundation certified conformance testing, has launched the Software-Defined Networking (SDN) Consortium. The SDN testing performed at the lab will enable one-stop shopping for controller and switch interoperability, as well as conformance and benchmark testing. The primary goal of the SDN Consortium is testing SDN applications and controllers against SDN switches, whether OpenFlow, NetConf, RestConf or others. Direct and remote access to the UNH-IOL’s extensive SDN switch test-bed will give SDN Consortium members a competitive edge in supporting rapid deployment of their applications and services.

Brain4Net, an innovative SDN/NFV solution provider, is the first company to officially join SDN Consortium. Brain4Net plans regular conformance, performance and interoperability testing for its’ new software products and applications releases, such as B4N Controller, B4N SwitchOS and multiple MEF Apps. An active participation in testing sessions against  UNH-IOL’s superior testing environment and SDN Consortium member’s (including application and controller vendors, network operators, user groups, data centers and others) products will assure conformance to standards, enhanced efficiency, accelerate solutions’ deployment, quality assurance and increase overall time-to-market.

“Active collaboration with community, conformance to standards and cross-vendor interoperability are extremely important at the current stage of SDN/NFV market development,” said Oleg Schapov, CEO and Founder of Brain4Net. “UNH-IOL provides best-in-class testing facilities and wide communication opportunities which make rapid technology evolution possible. Our company is pleased to be among the first official members of the SDN Consortium and we are ready to move industry forward.”

“We are looking forward to collaborating with our member companies, like Brain4net, in setting the stage for SDN conformance and interoperability testing,” said Timothy Winters, Senior Executive, Software and IP Networking of IOL-UNH. “By utilizing our extensive SDN switch test bed and years of experience in network testing, we are excited to help improve and prepare businesses for the future of networking.”

Earlier in 2016 Brain4Net participated in the 2nd annual Open Networking Foundation (ONF) AppFest, hosted in UNH-IOL, where B4N Controller, MEF apps pack and B4N SwitchOS have successfully passed interoperability tests with Noviflow and Edge-Core switches.
